Thanks to an iPad's long battery life and its minimal power consumption while in Sleep Mode, most users leave them on and charge them before they run out of battery power.
It is a good idea to turn your iPad off when you know you will not be using it for a while.
Powering down an iPad can allow updates to install when it switches back on, allow the hardware to cool down and rest, and of course, saves more battery than putting the device in Sleep Mode.
1. The Power button on the top right corner of the iPad can be held down for three seconds. If you have an iPad Pro with Face ID, hold the Power button and either of the volume buttons for three seconds.
2. The red power icon is on the screen.
And that is it. You can power down in a different way if you prefer.
1. Go to the settings app.
2. Click on General to scroll down a bit.
3. You can scroll all the way to the bottom.
The power icon appears.
1. The Apple logo can be seen on the screen if you hold the Power button at the top right corner of the iPad.
2. Once the iPad turns on, type in your code.
And that is it. In the event that doesn't work. Chances are that your battery is drained if your iPad doesn't turn on. Within a minute, you will see a battery icon for a deep red color, if you connect the iPad to power.
If you see a red battery icon, you can charge the device for a while and it will turn back on.
If you can't start an iPad by pulling up the dead battery icon, you can force restart it by holding the Power button at the top right corner and the Home button for 10 seconds.
If you have an iPad Pro with Face ID, use the following combination of buttons to force-restart.
1. The Volume Up button can be pressed for one second.
2. The Volume Down button can be pressed for one second.
3. The Apple logo will appear after five seconds if you press and hold the Power button.
If that doesn't work, you can go to the Apple iPad support page.
