CNN Plus, the streaming platform from the cable news giant, will debut in the US on March 29th, the company said Friday in a news release. If you sign up in the first four weeks of the service's launch, you'll get a discounted price for the rest of the year. The standard price is $5.99 per month or $59.99 per year.

CNN announced plans for a streaming service in July of last year, with programming that includes daily versions of weekly CNN shows, all-new shows, and original series and movies. CNN's library of content will be accessible to subscribers. CNN will have a single app with a section for CNN Plus subscribers to access the streaming content, according to the company.

CNN's parent company WarnerMedia is close to closing a merger with Discovery and has had some internal personnel shakeups recently. Jeff Zucker resigned as president in February after failing to properly disclose his relationship with another executive at the company. Zucker has named an executive at CBS as his replacement.

Zucker said it would offer consumers a streaming product that grows the reach and scope of the CNN brand when the cable company announced its new streamer. There is nothing like this.
