According to figures, about one in 25 people in England have had a case of coronaviruses in the last week.

In Scotland, infections have been rising for weeks. In Scotland, the number of Covid patients in the hospital reached 1,636 on Thursday, exceeding the high of 1,571 on January 19th.

According to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics, an estimated 2,073,900 people in the community in England had Covid in the week ending 5 March, equating to one in 25 people. The figure was about one in 30.

In Scotland, the figures show that one in 18 had Covid in the most recent week, while in Northern Ireland and Wales it was one in 13 and 30 respectively.

The data shows an increase in Covid-19 infections across the whole of the UK, with a continued rise of BA.2 Omicron cases.

According to the findings from the study, Covid was rising in older people. The rise of the BA.2 variant of Omicron, which is more transmissible than the original version, may be one of the reasons for the trend.
