The Las Vegas Raiders are said to be ending the tenure of veteran LB Cory Littleton.
According to Jeremy Fowler, the Raiders plan on releasing Littleton. He signed a three-year, $36 million contract in 2020 and spent the last two seasons in Las Vegas.
The Los Angeles Rams signed Littleton as an free agent. He became the team's full-time starter two years later and recorded over 100 tackles in back-to-back seasons, including a career-high 134 in 2019.
In 17 games last year, Littleton made 13 starts. He made 98 tackles with a fumbled recovery and four pass interferences.
The Washington product has never had more than five sacks in a season. The only time he got to the quarterback in Las Vegas was last year, when he recorded a half-sack. He has nine sacks in six years.
While not a sack artist, he is an experienced player who can tackle in the right scheme. He will likely get a lot of offers on the open market.
The Raiders will be looking to improve their defense. The league had 35 sacks in Las Vegas last year. The team had a hard time creating turnovers, finishing with a turnover differential of minus nine.
