One of the best pass-rushers in the NFL in Joey Bosa is already with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Ian Rapoport reported that the Bears traded Mack to the Bolts for multiple draft picks.

Ryan Poles was hired as a new general manager and Matt Eberflus was hired as a new head coach for Chicago. The focus on the future isn't that surprising with young quarterback Justin Fields coming off his first season.

The team has lost some draft capital in recent seasons with the trade to land Mack from the Las Vegas Raiders and the trade to move up in last year's draft to select Fields, so this helps replenish the pick department.

Mack is a big loss for the Bears and a big gain for the Bolts.

He is on a Hall of Fame pace through eight seasons with a resume that includes the 2016 Defensive Player of the Year, three All-Pro selections, six Pro Bowl nods and four straight years with double-digit sacks.

He is 31 years old and had foot surgery in the middle of the 2020 season that limited him to seven games, but he is one of the best defensive players in the league when he is healthy.

After the Denver Broncos traded for Russell Wilson, another significant addition was made.

The Los Angeles defense will have to deal with Patrick Mahomes, Wilson and Carr in the same area, and teaming Mack with Bosa should help it at least contain some of those explosive offenses.

The Bolts missed out on the playoffs last year for the third year in a row. A defense that features Bosa, Mack and James and an offense with Herbert under center could change that.
