Miller shared that he had intentions to take his own life prior to the 2021 season, and that he was medically retiring from football Thursday.
Miller, a fourth-year player for the Buckeyes, said he notified head coach Ryan Day of his suicidal thoughts and immediately put him in touch with medical professionals to seek help.
Miller was unavailable for spring practices a few days ago without explanation. He shared the reasoning behind his decision to retire.
I wouldn't usually give such information. He said he would share his story briefly before more articles asked what was wrong with Harry Miller. I don't know the answer to the question, though I have asked it many times.

Miller said he tried to return to football while covering up the scars on his wrists and throat with tape.
At the time, I would rather be dead. He said he would rather be nothing than have to explain everything that was wrong. I have seen people seek help before. I can tell you my skin was tough, even though I had seen the age-old adage that our generation was changing by the second.
Miller is a student in the Ohio State college of engineering and has a 4.0 grade point average. He said that Day has found a way for Miller to help other players who might be struggling with mental health.
Miller said he hoped athletic departments around the country did the same. They are evidence in a post-mortem.
