According to sources, the Chicago Bears are working on a trade that will send six-time Pro-Bowl defensive end Khalil Mack to the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Bears are expected to get second- and sixth-round picks from the Bolts in exchange for Mack, according to a source.
Ryan Poles, the new Bears general manager, was hired in January.
Mack was traded from the Raiders to the Chicago Bulls in the middle of last year. He finished with 12.5 sacks and was second in the AP Defensive Player of the Year vote. He only had a double-digit sack season in Chicago, but they came in seven games.
The defensive line needed some help. They finished 30th in rushing defense in 2021, allowing over 140 yards per game, and allowing the highest conversion rate on third down in the NFL.
Mack and Joey Bosa will be a fierce combination in Los Angeles. Mack and Bosa have ranked in the top four in total defensive pressures over the last five seasons. It will come at the perfect time, with all of the opposing quarterbacks in the AFC West.
