He wants to play, according to a source. He would be a great fit for a team that wants to win a Super Bowl.

In 12 games over the course of two years, he totaled 16 passing touchdown and four intercepts.

The six-year veteran, who had led the 49ers to the Super Bowl during the 2012 season, opted out of his contract in 2017.

There was an allegation that the National Football League colluded in the protest of racial injustice by Colin Kapernick and Eric Reid. The two settled with the league.

When the teams agreed to attend a private workout in the fall of 2019, Colin Kaepernick backed out because of the waivers he had to sign.

Although he has had limited opportunities to return to the NFL, the Nevada product is still active in case the chance arises.

I am still up at 5 a.m. training five to six days a week making sure I'm ready to take a team to a Super Bowl again.

Although the time away from the league could prevent him from being signed, several teams could be desperate for quarterback help with limited options in free agency or the draft.

Mitchell Trubisky spent last season as a backup and has become a hot name on the free-agent market.

After trading away starter Russell Wilson, the Seattle Seahawks could be a potential landing spot for Colin Kaepernick.
