8th Wall is a company that helps developers make web-based augmented reality apps. The company is a big fan of the term "real-world metaverse", and when asked about the terms of the deal, Jen Stratton said the details were confidential.

The developer of Pokémon Go has continued to push into augmented reality, most recently with a Pikmin-themed app. The company shut down both Catan: Settlers and a Harry Potter-themed augmented reality game.
