A Las Vegas judge on Thursday granted a request for a hearing to determine if former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III will stand trial in state court on felony and misdemeanor charges related to his involvement in a fiery car crash that left a woman and her dog dead.
The defense asked for a delay because there was still material that needed to be reviewed, according to David Chesnoff.
The hearing will be held on May 19.
There are felony driving under the influence and reckless driving charges against him. The former Raiders first-round draft pick is accused of driving 156 mph with a blood-alcohol content twice the legal limit in Nevada in the early-morning hours of November 2. Max was killed in the crash.
The Clark County coroner's office determined that Tintor died of thermal injuries from a motor vehicle collision.
If he is convicted, he would face a mandatory two years and possibly more than 50 years in prison. He is accused of having a gun.
After the crash, the Raiders released Ruggs and his girlfriend.
