New Zealand beat India by 62 runs in the Women's World Cup.

Despite impressing with the ball, India struggled with the bat and fell short of the White Ferns.

Amy Satterthwaite and Amelia Kerr both hit half-centuries for New Zealand.

New Zealand and India both have two points in the early group-stage table.

The West Indies will play India at the same venue on Saturday, while New Zealand will play Australia at the same time.

New Zealand show their class

New Zealand lost to the West Indies in the opening game of the tournament, but have won their next two games.

Their batting was solid in posting a stiff target.

Their class shone through in the field.

They kept a careful watch on the run-rate, with the pace, accuracy and hostility of Lea Tahuhu, complemented by a battery of skillful seam and spin bowlers.

The most skillful of them all is 21-year-old Kerr, who halted an India fightback with a superb 30th over.

Kerr stepped up as Mithali Raj and Harmanpreet Kaur, two of India's most experienced players, began to find the boundary with more regularity.

From the very next ball, Richa was bamboozled by a googly that back her off stump, after Raj had been stumped with a leg-break.

India had some moments of their own, but they were mostly in the field, where the death bowling of Pooja Vastrakar caught the eye.

It was a landmark moment for 39-year-old Jhulan Goswami who became the joint leading bowler in World Cup history by claiming her 39th victim.
