South Korea has been trying to put an end to chronic overwork, but the incoming president has in the past advocated for even longer work hours.

South Korea's presidential election was won by a conservative. The policy to promote better work-life balance was criticized by Yoon in July. Moon's policy limits the hours people can work to 52 hours a week, plus another 12 hours of overtime.

Some workers may need to work longer hours during peak periods before going on an extended break, so the system should allow for more flexibility.

He said that workers should be allowed to work 120 hours a week and take a break. His suggestion is 120 hours a week.

According to the data from the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, the average South Korean worker worked 1,908 hours in 2020. That is one of the highest hours- worked totals in the organization. In the US, the average worker put in 1,767 hours of work in 2020.

The working hours in South Korea were down from 2,106 hours in 2013 to 1,967 hours in 2019.

South Korea has a hard-driving work culture. Long hours and weekend work are common in the workplace. A series of controversial statements

The length of the workweek didn't sit well with many people.

The Korea Herald reported in July that the Democratic Party's presidential candidate said that if a person worked 120 hours a week, he would die.

He later said his comments were misinterpreted.

What kind of dictator would make people work 120 hours a week? He said that people on the other side distorted what he said as if he said we should work 120 hours. It isn't worth any attention.

One of the controversial comments made by Yoon was that he appeared to dislike Africa.

Competitive technology is important to companies internationally. People no longer do hands and feet labor like they used to. India does not do that anymore. During a meeting with university students in September, Yoon said that it is only a place like Africa that still does.

He thinks feminism is to blame for the abysmal birth rate. According to the Korea Herald, South Korea has one of the lowest fertility rates in the world. According to the National Center for Health Statistics, the US total fertility rate was 1.64 in 2020.

Some people think feminism is too politically exploited to prevent healthy relationships between men and women. This is not a problem that can be solved with government subsidies.
