Looks like Buddy Boeheim (No. 35) took a swing at his opponent.

The Atlantic Coast Conference needs to suspend Syracuse's leading scorer, Buddy Boeheim, for at least a game after he punched a Florida State player in the stomach.

There was a new version on March 9, 2022. Buddy Boeheim has been suspended from the conference.

Boeheim decided to hit the Florida State player in the ribs, making him double over. The game had to be stopped so that someone could attend to him. The play was not reviewed or called a foul.

Buddy Boeheim, who is leading the Orange in scoring with 19.3 points per game, looked back at the damage and didn't apologize. His lack of remorse was intolerable. Own your swing if it wasn't intentional. A mistake was made. Be a decent human being by checking on the guy you just caught with a right hand, accepted during a fight, not on the hardwood.

Buddy's jog to get back on defense is the proof that we need. Does he not know how many cameras are focused on a college basketball game? The feed picked it up and made him look worse for not coming to help. The play will be reviewed by the Atlantic Coast Conference to see if it is a crime for the Orange star to hit an opponent.

The Syracuse victory over Florida State sets up a first-round game against Duke, most likely the final one between Buddy and Mike Krzyzewski. The Blue Devil's have won 12 of the 17 games they've played. Boeheim believes his son will not be suspended for the next game.

Jim Boeheim said that the kid swung around and hit him.

The younger Boeheim was not available to speak to reporters after the game.

Buddy Boeheim said that he swung his arm in the heat of the game after shoving in the lane. I apologized to him multiple times. I know it was wrong, but he said not to worry. I respect the game and our opponent. I will not do that again.

The Orange need to win the conference tournament to get into the NCAA tournament. Syracuse needs to be without its top scorer as it tries to sneak into the Tournament. Every player who didn't punch someone in a game on Wednesday gets to play.
