Last week, Travel Weekly editor in chief Arnold Weissmann wrote a column titled "From the Window Seat" about the challenges facing Julia Kulyk and her husband, Alexander, and their daughter, Polina. Julia and Polina were brought to the border with Romania so they could escape the Russian invasion.

Julia and Polina crossed the border from Ukraine to the Netherlands. Aleksandr is helping other Ukrainian families escape the war.

Julia and Polina arrived in Berghem, Netherlands, where they will live as refugees. A friend of theirs has set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for them as they move to a foreign land.
