Boeheim is out for the Syracuse game against Duke because of the suspension.
During the first half of the game, Boeheim hit Wilkes in the stomach as he was going up the court. No foul was called and the play was not reviewed.
The Orange won the game 96-57. Boeheim denied any malicious intent after the game.
He said that he swung his arm while turning to go back up the court. I apologized to the other person multiple times in the handshake line. I will not do that again.
Florida State head coach Leonard Hamilton doesn't believe that Boeheim intended to play dirty.
Hamilton told reporters that Buddy Boeheim was the best kid in the conference. We are going to let the people talk about how well they played.
Boeheim averaged 19.3 points per game during the regular season. The Orange are trying to avoid finishing the season with a losing record for the first time in 50 years after Wednesday's win.
