The current bonus on purchased points is in line with the best offers from the program. This is a reminder that the promotion is due to end in a couple of days.
There is a bonus on points purchased through Friday, March 11, 2022. Some members may be eligible for an 80% bonus, while others may be eligible for a 100% bonus, with the latter being in line with the best offers. You will want to log into your account to see what you are eligible for.
You need to buy at least 5,000 points in order to get the maximum bonus in any version of the offer.
All taxes and fees are included in the price of one cent per purchased point. That is before any discounts or bonuses. If you're eligible for the 100% bonus and maxed out the offer, you'll receive a total of 160,000 points at a cost of $800, which is a rate of 0.2 cents per point.
Normally when a promotion on points is offered, it is for either a 100% bonus or 50% discount, so this offer is line with the best deals from the program.
You can buy up to 80,000 points per account before any bonuses. There are promotions where the cap on how many points you can buy increases, but that is not the case right now.
You could get a lot of points by simply buying points across accounts and then consolidation them, because Hilton lets you combine points at no cost.
Points purchases are not counted as hotel purchases for purposes of credit card spending.
If you want to reach a minimum spending requirement, or if you want to maximize your return on everyday spending, I would recommend using a Chase Freedom unlimited credit card.
If you're unsure, review which credit cards are best for buying points and miles.
It is possible to buy a huge amount of points with the help of theHiltonHonors points. It's easy to earn elite status with the program, it sells points at a reasonable cost, it has lots of aspirational properties, and it has good redemptions with a fifth night free opportunity. Buying points can be a great deal if you combine those factors.
The program has dynamic award pricing, which is why it doesn't have a published award chart. Depending on the day of the week, time of year, and so on, the cost of a standard free night award can vary.
The awards for free night are usually 10,000 points per night and go up to 95,000 points per night. The Los Cabos costs up to 120,000 points per night, and the Maldives costs up to 150,000 points per night.
Sometimes you will see award costs that are much higher than the amounts. Premium rooms have higher prices because there isn't a standard room available. That is not as good of a use of points.
If you have elite status, you will receive a fifth night free on award redemptions. If you can, I would recommend making your award stay for five nights.
To take advantage of this, you need to log into your elite account and make an award booking for five nights. One thing I love about the program is how easy it is to earn elite status with credit cards. perks include room upgrades, complimentary breakfast, hotel credits, and more. For example:
There are many great hotels where you can redeem your points. There are a few examples based on current pricing.
It's not hard to realize the potential for outsized value when you consider an acquisition cost of less than a dollar per point and a fifth night free.
If you have at least some account activity once every 12 months, you can keep your points. Buying points would reset the expiration of your points if eligible account activity includes earning or redeeming points.
I value points conservatively, at a rate of at least 0.25 cents per point. The pricing here is in line with how much I value these points, and there are ways to get a lot of outsized value with this promotion.
All standard rooms are available for award redemptions. This is about as good of a policy as you will find with any hotel group.
There are many ways to earn points, from staying at a hotel to buying points directly. You can easily earn points by using credit cards that are co- branded. The cards include the following.
I don't think this is a good deal given how valuable Amex points are.
There is a bonus on points purchased through Friday, March 11, 2022. The 80% or 100% bonus is as good as the offers from the program get. There are a lot of situations where this could be a good deal. Thanks to the Aspire Card, I have grown up with theHiltonHonors.
