The Penguin drives a car while screaming in The Batman.

The rise of Oswald Cobblepot is set to expand the world of Warner Bros. With the film grossing $134 million at the North American box office and $124 million internationally, this announcement comes after director Matt Reeves revealed that plans for a Gotham Central show have evolved into another spinoff series.

The Penguin, a working title, has been given a series order after being announced as in development last year. The show is executive produced by Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark, Colin Farrell, and Lauren LeFranc.

Farrell's Penguin is quickly becoming a fan favorite, so it isn't surprising we will get to see how he did during the last act of the movie. Will be good to get him back on the streets of Gotham for a bit of craziness.

It's not the first time we've seen a live-action Penguin cause a lot of trouble on TV. The show gave an interpretation of the rise of the Penguin and the Riddler in the series for the Caped Crusader. It remains to be seen if any involvement with The Batman will be as intimate as the last time. Chances are we'll get to see if this Penguin's background has anything to do with the events of the film, as well as his own plans for the Falcone crime family.

Will we see more of Robert Pattinson as Batman or Bruce Wayne as well? While that detail is being left out, the dynamic with Bats and Gordon definitely carried some of the more notable scenes in the film. We will bring you more on The Penguin when we learn it.
