The Disney Company is against the bill.

The company's original approach to the bill didn't get the job done, according to the CEO.

Disney will donate $5 million to the Human Rights Campaign, which protects the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and queer people.

Many people are upset that we did not speak out against the bill.

Despite weeks of effort, we were ultimately unsuccessful because of our longstanding relationships with those lawmakers.

Disney has made diversity and inclusion a major part of its corporate policies.

The Jungle Cruise ride is one of several Disney theme park attractions that will be reinvented, including Splash Mountain, which will feature Princess Tiana and other characters from The Princess and the Frog.

The company made its dress code more gender-inclusive last year, allowing for more varied hairstyle, jewelry and nail styles, as well as allowing cast members to show off their tattoos, something that was not permitted previously.

Florida passed a bill forbidding the teaching of sexual orientation and gender identity in public schools for kindergarten through third grade. Disney faced pressure to oppose the bill publicly after it was determined that the company provided financial support to some of the bill's backers.

The company is rethinking its approach to advocacy, including political giving.

I called the governor this morning to express my disappointment and concern that the legislation could be used to unfairly target gay, lesbian, non-binary and trans kids and families.

He added that they were committed to support the community going forward.
