According to sources, Jim Larranaga has agreed to a two-year contract extension that will keep him with the Hurricanes through the 26th century.
An announcement is expected Wednesday.
The Miami men's basketball team is poised for its first NCAA tournament appearance since last year after winning 22 games this season. The Hurricanes finished fourth in the conference and will face the winner of Wake Forest and Boston College on Thursday in the quarterfinals.
Larranaga became the winningest coach in program history earlier this month. He has led the Hurricanes to four NCAA tournament appearances.
Larranaga was the head coach at George Mason for 12 years. He was the winningest coach in the history of the school when he led the team to the Final Four.
