The former assistant principal of a Mississippi elementary school is out of a job over a children's book he read to a group of second graders.

Toby Price was fired from Gary Road Elementary School in Byram after he read a book to students. The recommended reading age for the picture book is 6 to 10 years old, according to Amazon.com.

In a March 7 Facebook post, Price said he was let go by the school district for reading an awesome book to kids.

A young boy suddenly notices a problem with his butt. Will he choose an armor-plated butt? A rocket butt? There is a quirky tale of a tail.

A guest reader failed to show up, so Price stepped in.

My boss told me to go ahead and read.

I have never had an issue with it before, so I didn't think twice about reading it.

It is not known if the reading caused complaints among students or parents. On Wednesday, March 9, we reached out to the school district and were waiting for a response.

The school district officials chided Price for causing unnecessary embarrassment and a lack of professionalism in his work.

The news station reported that the school board members are going to hold a public hearing on the matter.

Byram is 10 miles southwest of Jackson.

The good stuff is where the banned books are.
