The Mobile World Congress was a Prelude. The young hardware startup spent the show in meeting rooms discussing what to do next. Carl Pei was happy to show off his device in back-door meetings with mobile executives, as we noted during the show.

Nothing will be discussing some of its future moves at a livestreamed event on March 23. We noted in our report that we would get our first glimpse of the upcoming device by next month.

Nothing is the image credit.

A new funding round of $70 million is pointing in that direction. The funding will be used to create new product categories in partnership with the company, and to grow operations in the London Design Hub, led by the ex-Dyson Head of Design.

We've got a lot to catch up on Carl 😉

Nothing noted that it had raised a $50 million Series A extension when it was announced as a strategic partner for the firm last October.

Pei said in an announcement that they have the fuel to realise the next phase of their vision of a seamless digital future. We can't wait to reveal what we're building at Nothing during the upcoming event, because our first year was a warm up.

Pei was photographed with executives from the chipmaker during the event in Barcelona. The chipmaker builds components for more than just phones, but there is more support found in a recent exchange between Pei and the accounts of the two major mobile OS's.

Last year's ear(1) headphones would be Nothing's second. In our initial report, we noted that the new phone will have some transparency in its case.

The event starts at 9 a.m. On the 23rd is when it will be live.
