Nothing, the startup lead by Carl Pei, will announce its product roadmap for the year on March 23rd at 9AM. The event is called The Truth and attendees can RSVP via the website. Pei says the new funding round will give it the fuel to realize the next phase of its vision of a seamless digital future.
The announcement of the event coincides with a recent report that Nothing is about to launch its first phone next month. Pei was seen showing off a phone to the CEO of the company. Nothing acquired the Essential brand a year ago. Andy Rubin founded the startup that released a single phone before shutting it down.
“We can’t wait to reveal what we’re building at Nothing during the upcoming event”
Pei said in a press release that they can't wait to reveal what they're building at Nothing during the upcoming event. Nothing has been said about what categories of product it intends to announce, but it is working with Qualcomm to use its best-known platform, the Snapdragon platform. Nothing released its first product last year, a pair of true wireless headphones.
The features and specifications of Nothing's rumored phone are not known. It could include transparent elements like those seen with the company's Ear 1 earbuds, but there is no word on what concrete features it could include. Nothing recently hired a former Dyson design lead to serve as its design director and says it will continue to work with Teenage Engineering to help steer the brand's high-level design.
