When you hear the song "Girl on Fire", you probably think of 2012 but it is also a graphic novel.
On Tuesday, Keys appeared on The Tonight Show and talked about her new book, her first graphic novel, and what the story is about.
Keys explains in the clip above that she is raised by a single father who is also raising her brother. She wanted to protect her brother after he was attacked by a police officer, but she didn't know what to do.
Keys explained that in that moment, Lola realized she had special powers.
Keys says that she is trying to figure out what to do with the energy. How do I use it? Am I crazy? The book is a metaphor for how we all try to find our way to harness our powers.
