tony hawk broken leg

Tony Hawk says he suffered a broken leg on Monday and may never get back to normal.

In a lengthy post on Tuesday, the 53-year-old said he would do whatever it took to get back on the board.

I broke my elbow 20 years ago and made a full comeback, but this recovery for a broken femur will be much harder because of my age. I'm up for the challenge.

We were told that Tony had an injury while he was skating.

Tony says there is a bit of irony surrounding the accident, as it happened right before the release of "Until The Wheels Fall Off", a doc that details how and why he continued to skate into his 50s.

This injury will be the biggest threat to his ability to continue the sport he loves, as he has previously vowed to keep skating until he literally cannot anymore.

Despite the serious injury, Hawk is already planning his comeback and posted a picture and video of him putting weight on his broken leg just one day later.

Get well, Hawk.

Dr. David Abbasi explained the likely injuries as well as the recovery time, based on the images Tony posted on social media.
