A Texas man with ties to a militant group was found guilty on all counts Tuesday in the first trial relating to crimes committed during the January 6 U.S. Capitol riot.

Reffitt, a 49-year-old from Texas, was found guilty of five felonies after storming the Capitol with a holstered handgun and interfering with police.

Reffitt was found guilty of obstruction of justice after prosecutors said he threatened his teenage children not to report him to authorities.

A witness said that Reffitt traveled to D.C. in a vehicle with weapons, including an AK-47 style rifle.

Reffitt left most of the weapons in the vehicle but took his handgun to the Capitol, the witness said.
