The Chinese astronauts delivered a message from space.

The first woman on China's space station beamed a message to Earth to celebrate International Women's Day.

I'm Wang Yaping and I'm Chinese. Wang said in the video message that he was currently carrying out a six-month mission in the China space station. I wish all my female friends a very happy International Women's Day!

I would like to thank every woman for their dedication, and wish that they could pursue a career that interests them.

Wang Yaping became the China National Space Administration's second female astronauts to reach space back in 2013. Wang is due to return to Earth with her two colleagues in April. The station was launched in October of 2021.

Wang was the first Chinese woman to embark on an extravehicular activity.

Wang is not the only woman in space.

The orbing lab was the location of a six-month trip to be taken by three crewmates. She and her crewmates will return to Earth in April.

Two people are currently living in space. There are seven astronauts on the International Space Station, including four NASA astronauts, two Russian cosmonauts and one European.
