The experience of winning the World Cup can help England bounce back from an opening defeat.

Five years ago, England lost their opening game to India, but went on to beat the same opponents in the final.

They will face the West Indies in New Zealand on Wednesday after being beaten by Australia in Hamilton on Saturday.

You never know, it could be the same again. Batter Beaumont said that they can take a lot of heart from that.

You can look back at that and think it was perfect, but we beat Australia by three runs in the group and South Africa by two runs in the semi-finals.

We lost to India in the first game, so maybe it wasn't as perfect as you think.

We take that as a positive. It is going to be difficult. We might not win every game, but we know we have done it before.

  • Why England should fear Windies' Matthews

The largest total in a women's one-day international was made by Australia against the defending champion.

England fell short of the highest chase in women's one-day internationals, a huge improvement from the batting unit that struggled in their loss to Australia earlier this year.

It was a really good account of ourselves, but we didn't get the two points on the board.

The batting in the Ashes was not up to standard, so to nearly chase 311 was a great way to go about it.

If England are to beat a West Indies side that beat New Zealand in their first game, they need to improve in some areas.

She said that the Australia game wasn't our best day in the field.

They beat the home team. It is a big game for us to start our campaign.
