According to a report, one network is ready to make Joe Buck an offer he cannot refuse.
According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, Buck is getting a big-money contract offer.
According to sources, Buck is expected to get a five-year, $60 million-$75 million contract if given the chance. He would probably be a producer.
According to Marchand, Buck has one year left on his contract with Fox Sports. If Eric Shanks wants to let Buck go, he has to do it in the final year of his contract.
Troy Aikman, who has been an analyst for Fox for more than a decade, is leaving to join the company on a five-year contract worth over $90 million. Aikman wants Buck to join him at the sports network.
Fox would likely want something back in return for allowing Buck to walk away, according to Marchand. Marchand said that if Buck stays, the network is prepared to use Al Michaels as their new play-by-play man.
The broadcast rights to two of the next three Super Bowls are held by Fox. If Buck leaves, the team of Kevin and Greg are the favorites to get the Super Bowl job, though it is not a foregone conclusion, according to Marchand.
