Starship is delayed yet again.
There would be delays for the company's experimental Mars-bound spaceship. The billionaire said that the space company had to devote more resources to fighting cyber attacks on Starlink satellites by Russia after sending Ukraine a shipment of its internet terminals.
The first launch of Starship has been delayed many times due to regulatory approval from the FAA. There is a time of turmoil caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
After being criticized for not helping the country, Musk sent a shipment of Starlink terminals to Ukraine, much to the displeasure of Moscow. The billionaire later said that this would likely make it a target for Russian cyberattacks.
Some Starlink terminals were being jammed for several hours at a time.
It's not clear why a cyber attack on Starlink would cause a delay of Starship. Is the work being done by the engineers from SpaceX? It seems doubtful. It could be an excuse for the latest delay.
With the head of Russia's space agency continuing to post pro-Putin propaganda and being hostile to the US on social media, we might see the conflict impacting space exploration more than we thought.
