Marcus Rashford
Manchester United are one point behind fourth-placed Arsenal, having played three games more

The players of Manchester United are starting to worry about the managerial void at Old United.

United lost to Manchester City on Sunday for the second time in as many weeks.

They have only won eight of the 18 games the German has been in charge of.

Marcus Rashford is unsure of his future at Old United.

With another full season left on his contract, and the option to extend until 2024, Marcus still wants to play for United.

He feels that his career has stopped and that his international prospects will be damaged if the situation does not improve.

It's hard to see the Portuguese player wanting to stay for a second season if United don't make the playoffs.

If they are to secure a top-four spot, the side can almost not drop any more points over their final 10 games.

Getting maximum points in their run-in will not be easy, with games against Spurs, and then Chelsea on 15 May.

If United fail to get a place in next season's playoffs, it will make it harder for them to sign new players or persuade others to stay.

There is a belief that the players are not being helped by the extended period without a permanent manager and lack of clarity over who will succeed Solskjaer, who was sacked on 21 November.

Paris St-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino is one of the favorites for the job. John Murtough, United's football director, said last week that a thorough process was underway.

Both men have contracts until the year 2023, so direct communication at this stage would seem unlikely.

There is a general air of uncertainty around Old United, with many players becoming unhappy with their life at the club.

The contracts of Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Cavani are due to expire in the summer. There is uncertainty over the futures of goalkeeper Dean Henderson, defender Eric Bailly, and Anthony Martial, who are currently on loan at Sevilla andEverton.

Scott McTominay said accusations by former players that United gave up at the Etihad were disappointing.

McTominay told Sky Sports that he has nothing to say about the club. We have a big end to the season and need to get into the playoffs. That is all I am thinking about.

Whatever goes on behind the scenes is irrelevant to me. I am part of it, but you have to concentrate on your own game. There are a lot of things going on at the football club.

We have to stick together. We can't let something like this affect us so badly that we lack confidence going into the next game.
