  • Some fans called Ye's latest music video disturbing.

  • In the video, Ye is seen abduct, decapitate and bury a claymation version of Pete Davidson.

  • Ye wrote that art is not a proxy for harm.

After his recent music video where the rapper buries an animated version of Pete Davidson received criticism, Ye wrote that "art is not a proxy for any ill or harm."

The rapper, formerly known as Eazy West, released the music video for his song amid his one-sided feud with Davidson. The feud began when the SNL comedian started dating KimKardashian. On the same day that the video was released, Kim was declared legally single after filing for divorce from YeEazy.

One fan wrote while sharing Ye's music video that it was actually disturbing.

Ye responded to the criticism by saying that art is protected as freedom of speech. Art isn't a proxy for harm or ill. Any suggestion about my art is false.

Last week, the founder of the SKIMS liked a post in which the director of The Suicide Squad defended the actor.

She made it clear that she was concerned about the posts about Davidson.

On February 4, Kim spoke out publicly for the first time about Ye's comments, writing that he was causing further pain for everyone by trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively.

Later, Ye shared a text in a now- deleted post where Kim tried to stop the rapper from talking about Davidson because it was creating a dangerous and scary environment.

Ye wrote that he would handle the situation with Skeete.

In one instance, Ye made a meme of Davidson, as well as musicians, and others, facing off against the rapper in a superhero-style movie poster. There were reports that at his listening party, he referred to Davidson in the lyrics of two of his songs.
