The Bears, who held the top spot for five weeks earlier this season, took three of the six first-place votes.
The top five were Kentucky, Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, and Purdue. Tennessee and UCLA tied for the 13th and 16th spots, while Illinois and Illinois tied for the 16th spot.
The biggest fall of the week was by Southern California, which fell five spots after losses to Arizona and UCLA. Houston fell four spots.
Colorado State and the 25th-ranked Tar Heels joined the poll as new additions, bumping Ohio State and Alabama from their rankings. The Rams were in the poll for four weeks in December and January.
The Tar Heels fell out of the rankings by Thanksgiving, which is part of the reason why the Atlantic Coast Conference has only one ranked team this season.
They hadn't received a vote in the past six polls but got one on Monday after winning at Duke in Mike Krzyzewski's final game.
