According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, Kyler Murray wants his contract situation resolved before the draft.
Murray has one more year left on his contract, but he is eligible for an extension this year. His agent said in a statement last month that they were looking for a long-term deal from the Cards.
Breer said that Murray's side doesn't want to wait until the summer because it's difficult for quarterbacks to hold out into training camp, which could affect his leverage. Before the draft, which begins on April 28, any potential trade is easier.
Breer predicted that a trade could be on the table if negotiations don't go well.
According to Josh Weinfuss, Arizona is not taking calls on Murray at the moment, but there is a separation between the two sides.
The Cardinals see Murray as self-centered, immature and finger pointer.
Christian Kirk said that the quarterback deserves a new contract.
There are few people who can do what Kyler does.
In three seasons, the No. 1 overall pick has two Pro Bowl selections and an offensive rookies of the year award. He produced a 100.6 passer rating and 24 passing touchdown and five rushing touchdown in 14 appearances this season.
The players future is now in the hands of the Cards.
