People living on the East Coast may soon see some animals.

Joro spiders, palm-sized spiders that have become a relatively common sight in some states, will likely be expanding their territory soon.

It doesn't have anything that controls its population size in the new habitat, but it has perfect conditions to spread.

Joro spiders are likely to thrive as their population spreads north because they are well-equipped to survive cold temperatures.

Joro spiders have yellow legs and yellow abdomens. They can use their webs like balloons or parachutes to ride the wind.

They originally came from East Asia, but have been in the U.S. since at least 2013).

Scientists emphasize that the arachnids pose no threat to humans and one Georgia resident referred to them as a big no.

The University of Georgia said last year that the large number of spiders in Georgia may be a good thing since they were eating pests like mosquitoes.

The school has issued a statement making a similar case.

There is nothing we can do to stop them, according to a news release this week.

Andy Davis, a research scientist at the university and another study co-author, urged people to have some compassion even if the spiders make them feel bad.

He said people should try to live with them.
