According to league sources, the Kansas City Chiefs are putting their franchise tag on Brown.

Brown is the first free agent to get the franchise tag. The deadline for teams to designate players is Tuesday. Time.

Brown started all 16 games at left tackle for the Chiefs last year, along with three playoff contests. He was selected to the Pro Bowl for the third time.

Brown was a third-round draft pick by the Ravens. He started 52 games in the regular season and playoffs for Baltimore.

Brown wanted to play left tackle for the Ravens, but that position was occupied byRonnie Stanley, so he asked for a trade to a team that would play him at left tackle.

The Chiefs gave up four picks, including their first-rounder, in order to acquire Brown.
