According to a survey by SellCell, 40 percent of iPhone users intend to buy the third-generation iPhone SE.

24 percent of users that plan to buy the iPhone will use it as their main device, while 16 percent will give the device as a gift. The majority of buyers plan to use the device themselves, but some will buy it for a child, spouse, or family member.

15.2 percent of users plan to buy the third-generation iPhone because of its price point, but they are mainly attracted to 5G, the compact form factor, and the Touch ID Home.

The majority of users will upgrade to the new iPhone SE, accounting for over a tenth of the models that users will part ways with once the new model launches. There is widespread appetite to upgrade from the iPhone 12 to the ‌iPhone 11‌, but 6.8 percent are planning to do so.

The majority of users who are not planning to buy the new model are happy with their current model.

The survey asked about the opinions of 2,548 adult owners of the scelphone in the united states. SellCell has a full survey breakdown.

Apple is expected to announce the third-generation sennae on March 8 along with the fifth-generation iPad Air and possibly a redesign of the high-end model.
