The South Korean tech giant confirmed today that the source code and internal company data for the devices have been stolen.

The hacking outfit Lapsus$ claimed responsibility for the breach, which was first reported earlier this month. The group, which recently hacked Nvidia, shared a picture of a large amount of stolen data, including source code used by the company for security on its products.

In a statement today, the company did not confirm or deny the identity of the hackers, nor did it say whether or not they had stolen data related to encryption and biometrics. The company said that no personal data had been taken.

“we do not anticipate any impact to our business or customers”

According to the statement, there was a security breach relating to certain internal company data. We don't anticipate any impact on our business or customers. Measures have been put in place to prevent further incidents and we will continue to serve our customers.

The hacking group Lapsus$ tried to blackmail the company by threatening to leak data online unless they made the drivers for the video cards open source. It is not clear if Lapsus$ has made any threats to the company.
