American Scottie Scheffler held on for a one-stroke victory at the Arnold Palmer Invitation to claim his second PGA Tour win in three starts.

After winning the Phoenix Open in February, Scheffler fired a even-par 72 to finish five under.

The winner of the event in 2020 was Tyrrell Hatton, who finished with a round of 69 to finish at four under.

The two Northern Ireland players finished at one over.

The pair started the final day four shots off the lead, but both faded on the final day, shooting four bogeys and a double bogey in tough conditions that were compounded by fast greens and deep rough.

He was one over through nine holes after two bogeys and a two-birdie day.

He sank a 21-foot par-saving putt at the 15th to get back to five under.

I didn't swing the club well today, but I kept grinding. I made some key putts towards the end.

After a bogey on the 17th and a par on the 18th, Norway's Hovland finished with a two-over 74 for 284.
