After successfully testing out his ankle before the game, Jaylen Brown started for the Celtics.
Celtics coach Ime Udoka had said earlier Sunday that Brown's status would be determined by a pre-game workout, and that the ankle injury that forced him to miss Thursday's win over the Hawks would be a factor.
Udoka said that he had some shooting sessions where he felt ok after being upgraded to questionable. The swelling has gone down and he is hoping for good news after his workout this morning.
Brown is a member of the Celtics and has averaged 23.2 points and 6.2 rebound in 50 games this season. The Nets have had Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving on the court together for just four times this season, and only the 32nd time since they signed with the Nets in the summer of 2019.
Udoka was asked if it would be difficult to switch game plans multiple times in a playoff series if Irving is not allowed to play in the playoffs. It is difficult to guard him.
If he is out, it is fine by me.
