The recent Amazon Prime hit Reacher, which is more than just a hit, appears to be the service's biggest show, according to the metrics provided by Nielsen.
In its first three days, Reacher had more viewing time than The Wheel of Time had in November 2021.
It's up there with the biggest series on the streaming service since it has so many more subscribers. The list for that time period looks like this:
One thing that does occur to me when I look at this list is that Amazon decided to debut Reacher all at once in binge-format, which it does not usually do, and that was not the case with The Wheel of Time, which was weekly, which may explain some of the I have no doubt that the Lord of the Rings series will be weekly as they attempt to craft their own must-see, highly buzzed-about Game ofThrones competitor. It's possible that binging is one of the reasons that many of the shows on the service are always top of the lists.
Reacher is a series that is likely going to continue for a long time on Prime, given that it is no doubt cheaper to make than other series. If Reacher skips around, the only real question is if he will go in book order. One of the best things Amazon has produced in its years in the streaming video game is this show.
