Some politicians are calling for brands to cut business ties with Russia, following its invasion of Ukraine.

The New York state comptroller urged companies to rethink their Russian business operations because they face significant and growing legal, compliance, operational, human rights and personnel risks.

He said that suspending or ending business in Russia would address various investment risks associated with the Russian market and would play a key role in condemning Russia's role in subverting the international order.

Insider did not get a response from Mcdonald's or PepsiCo when they asked for it outside of normal working hours.

The letter to boycott business in Russia was also sent to other companies.

Scores of companies have stopped or limited their dealings with Russia since Putin invaded Ukraine.

Several major companies recently severed business ties with Russia. Russian vodka was removed from store shelves by some retail brands.

John Mann is a British politician. If Mcdonalds and Starbucks continue to sell in Russia then an international boycott of their products should be instigated.

Social media users have called for a boycott of Mcdonald's.

One user who posted a photo of open McDonald's stores in Russia said, "Guess who is doing business as normal in Russia no surprise #boycottMcDonalds."

If you want to leave Russia or lose loyal customers, the choice is yours.
