Dayana was forced to flee her home after Russia invaded last week, but she made it to the final of the Lyon Open.

She will play in the final on Sunday.

After spending two nights in an underground car park with her sister Ivanna, the 21-year-old was sent out of Ukraine by boat and then on to France, where the tournament is being held.

In the third set, when I had match points, I was a bit crazy. I thought I had lost because I don't have any more power. Everybody was supporting me and I felt like I could do it.

I got a lot of messages from all over the world when I left my home. When I arrived here, I didn't think I would get that much support.

She said that she hasn't been getting a lot of sleep while reading about what's happening in Ukranian but that her spirit is still strong.

She said that Ukrainian people are very strong. I might be also strong.

Every win from now on goes to my country. It has no meaning compared to what is going on.

A former world No. 21, she has three career titles.
