A growing number of companies have paused sales of products and services in Russia due to the country's economic downturn. Apple stopped all product sales after receiving a request from the Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister. The company disabled traffic data for Maps in Ukranian to avoid putting residents in danger, as well as limited Apple Pay and pulled apps for Russian state-backed media. Microsoft stopped new sales of products and services in Russia.
According to Counterpoint Research, the Korean tech giant has a 30 percent market share in the country. As of the fourth quarter of 2021, Apple had a 13 percent market share. It is not clear if the TV plant in Russia is also stopped production.
Fedorov sent a letter similar to the one Tim Cook sent to him. He asked the Korean tech giant to stop supplying the country with its products, as well as to block some of them.

South Korean phones were exempt from the export bans imposed by the US government. Due to airlines and shipping services suspending their activities in the region, it would have a hard time sending products to Russia even if they wanted to.
