It has become clear that we are not going to get the start to the MLB season anytime soon, as the MLB lockout turned from days to weeks to months with negative progress on the newCBA.

Even if a deal is reached before the end of March, the season will have already been marred by the controversy surrounding it. The owners' reputations have been smeared and in case the curtain hadn't been peeled back enough already, the door has blown wide open on the business of baseball.

Fans will still consider this season a wash even if a season is played because of the shortened schedule. The Dodgers won the World Series that year, and while we got the two best teams in the World Series, many fans still think that the season should have an asterisk next to it. It's still possible that we have a 120 or 130-game season, but a deal would have to be struck soon. We are not close to a deal with the amount of games taken away.

Fans are looking for light at the end of the tunnel and every step sets them deeper in darkness. I am depressed and I just want you to stop playing baseball.

We have already lost a year of prime players due to the shortened 2020 season. We're having another season shortened? One that could be prevented? Fuck you.

I'm not sure if a deal will be reached before the season ends. The last full MLB season cancellation was in 1994. The lack of a season that year almost destroyed the game as it was more popular than it is today. The popularity of the World Series decreased over the course of seven seasons. What saved baseball? Steroids, of course. The same thing that saved baseball also tore it down after years of the higher-ups at MLB turning a blind eye toPEDs. It is similar to the one quote from Iron Man 2.

Baseball's popularity is near-record lows in 2022, so I'm worried that a scandal could pop up soon. Is it paranoia that I am being? Maybe, but there have been so many scandals in MLB recently, that I think the league has plans for more of them. They are going to have to do something to get fans back. They don't know how to market their players, they don't know how to hold players accountable for cheating, and they don't know how to be fun for younger generations. They are likely hoping they don't get caught.

They will be caught. When hundreds of players usedPEDs in the late 90s and early 2000s, MLB denied it had any idea, but they always do. It has to make it seem like it has integrity left. It doesn't. It does not care about its fans. It does not care about its players. It doesn't care about baseball.
