20th Century Studios revealed last year that Prey, an original film set in the Predator universe, will arrive on the streaming service. It's time to get a Hulu original film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fede has signed on to write and direct a stand-alone Alien film.
The series was brought back to its horror roots by the intense remake directed bylvarez. He went on to direct another hit horror flick.
The 1979 Alien film was a horror movie set in space. Sigourney Weaver became a star for her portrayal of Ellen Ripley. She was the only survivor of the starship Nostromo, which had a disastrous encounter with the alien.
Scott directed two Alien prequels: Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. He is an executive producer of the Alien movie through his Scott Free production studio. 20th Century Studios has not produced an Alien film since Disney bought it in 2019.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Scott was the one who set the new film in motion by approachinglvarez and he was a fan of the franchise.
Steve Asbell, head of 20th Century Studios, said that the new Alien film was given a green light because of Fede's pitch. It was a really good story with a lot of different characters.
Alien does not have a release date. It could begin filming in either this year or in 2023.
