The man who founded the company that is now known as Musk has devoted his existence to competing with gas-guzzling cars, oil, and coal, and which briefly reached a market cap of $1 trillion and delivered nearly 1 million EV last year.
He wrote late Friday.
Hate to say it, but we need to increase oil & gas output immediately.
Extraordinary times demand extraordinary measures.
Obviously, this would negatively affect Tesla, but sustainable energy solutions simply cannot react instantaneously to make up for Russian oil & gas exports.

He added that sustainable energy solutions simply cannot react to make up for Russian oil and gas exports. He's likely referring to the world's dependence on Russian oil and gas, a dependence which hasn't stopped many governments from sanctioning Russia following its invasion of Ukraine.
It's hard to tell if Musk is just joking or serious, but he's influential and many of his 76 million followers take him seriously even when he's not.
Oil and gas are important for Musk's plans as well. Last year, we reported on how his company wanted to drill for natural gas on land near its Texas facilities. Musk's rockets don't get off the ground without electricity.
Musk told Joe Rogan that he was not in favor of demonizing the oil and gas industry. What rate do we move to a sustainable energy future?
