As Russia's bloody invasion of Ukraine enters its second week, long lines and empty shelves have been seen at supermarkets in major cities across the war-torn country, prompting fears that the escalating attacks, which have already disrupted supply chains, will lead to food.

Volunteer groups are helping with donations of food and critical supplies at hospitals and train stations.

The founder of World Central Kitchen arrived in Lviv on Wednesday to help prepare meals for those fleeing Ukraine.

More than 1 million people have left Ukraine in the last week, according to the United Nations.
