FYI: As teams continue to look for QB’s, multiple teams have expressed interest in @Raiders QB Derek Carr. Not a surprise at all, it’s that time of year. Expect the interest to continue to heat up as long as Carr’s contract situation remains as is.

Carr is in the final year of a five-year, $125 million contract extension and will be a free agent in the fall of 2023.

According to a report from Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Raiders were willing to stick with Carr beyond 2022, even though it took at least two teams to make a trade.

The Raiders have a new regime led by general manager Dave Ziegler and head coach Josh McDaniels.

According to Rapoport, Carr was the top choice for the team's next coach, and he was the one who most recently served as the Pats' offensive coordinator. Both sides are looking to move forward and see how this partnership works out.

It doesn't seem likely that the Raiders would deal Carr even if there were interest from multiple teams.

The Silver and Black made the playoffs for the first time in two years, thanks to a good season from Carr.

Carr completed 68.6 percent of his passes for 23 touchdown and 7.7 yards per attempt. He finished 14th in QBR and quarterback rating.

There are many quarterback-needy teams out there, or at least ones that don't seem to have a long-term solution at signal-caller. The best bet is to re-sign Carr, build around him, and see where this core can go after a playoff appearance.
