Tucker Carlson is denying he praised Putin.

HuffPostHuffPost

Tucker Carlson was torched by Jon Stewart for his questionable commentary on Russia's aggression toward Ukraine.

Stewart said on the latest episode of New York Times reporter Kara that there is nothing you can take out of context with people like Carlson.

He admits when he is cornered that he lies. Stewart said that it was all a game and a performance.

Carlson defended Putin last week, noting that the Russian president had never called him a racist or threatened to fire him.

Carlson has toned down his pro-Russia rhetoric since the military invasion of Russia, but blamed Vice President Harris for his mistake.

Swisher said Carlson had given Putin a pass because he hadn't done anything personal to him. That's what it looked like to me, she said.

Stewart asked if they were nice to him. This Hitler guy? Has he done anything? Always holds the door, very polite, but I have to tell you something.

Stewart wondered why Murdoch was trying to destroy the fabric of this country.

Stewart doesn't know if it's ideological or if he just thinks the money is there. The responsibility lies in my mind.
