A new NPR/Marist poll shows the approval rating of the president has risen eight percentage points since the State of the Union address, while a majority of Americans support his response.
The poll found that 45% of respondents approved of Biden, up from 39% last week.
NPR notes that there have only been six instances since 1978 in which a president has had a "bump."
The increase was largely thanks to Democrats and Independents, whose approval of Biden went up by 11 and 10 points, respectively.
The poll found that over half of the population approved of Biden's response to Ukraine, an increase over the 34% who said the same last week.

In his State of the Union address, the president warned Russia that it would pay a price for invading Ukraine and that the U.S. was closing its airspace to Russian planes. The president highlighted domestic issues, previewing his administration's new Covid-19 strategy and drawing some Republican support by refuting calls to defund the police.
